Experience Level: The job experience requirement for this position is between 2 to 4 years.
Education Qualification: Candidates applying for this position should have a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree.
Experience required:
Lead real-time incident management, collaborating with on-callers, engineering teams, product, support, and leaders as necessary.
Take ownership of Incident Commander responsibilities and oversee or facilitate postmortem coordination, working with engineering/product teams to prioritize action items.
Coordinate with a globally distributed team to ensure seamless handoffs following a follow-the-sun model.
Document critical events and milestones throughout the incident lifecycle and communicate status updates accordingly to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with engineering/support/product teams to enhance tooling, automation, and documentation for incident management processes.
Provide input and suggestions for incident management and reliability enhancements.
Develop automated workflows for building, testing, and deploying applications across different environments (development, staging, production).
Diagnose issues and optimize pipeline performance based on monitoring data.
Participate in the on-call rotation for the services provided by the Platform team.
Qualifications:
Qualifications for the DevOps Engineer position include:
- Profound understanding of incident management principles, tools, and processes.
- Familiarity with software development and IT operations.
- Experience in postmortem coordination and follow-up actions.
- Proficiency with tools like Jira, PagerDuty, ELK, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, tools, and methodologies.
- Familiarity with Azure Services.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python and Shell, as well as orchestration tools like Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and HashiCorp Nomad.
- Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, ELB, IAM, Route 53, RDS, OpenSearch, Security Groups, and ElastiCache.
- Experience with Web Servers (IIS).
- Proficiency in query skills (DDL & DML) on MSSQL.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Prometheus, StatsD, Burrow (Kafka lag), Kafka Minion, and Victoria Metrics.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
