Requirements Gathering:
Comprehend, interpret, and clarify both functional and technical requirements, as well as adhere to project requirement standards.
Project Estimation:
Capable of offering estimates for effort and timelines for assigned tasks.
Capability Development:
Enhance core skills to accelerate progress along the learning curve within the identified area of expertise.
Design & Analysis:
- The study assigned functional specifications thoroughly.
- Analyze and discern the impact of specifications.
- Raise queries and seek resolutions from various stakeholders.
- Provide necessary support to develop the proof of concept.
Coding:
- Develop coding, including business layer coding, interface development, service development, and creation of stored procedures as required in the project.
- Timely raise clarifications, issues, or concerns regarding work output to the lead.
- Periodically seek review from peers/senior developers.
- Rework the code based on code review feedback or defects raised in unit testing or other relevant testing phases.
- Participate in code peer reviews as required.
- Highlight any potential risks to the Leads and seek inputs to resolve identified issues.
- Provide support for the integration of components as needed.
- Update the traceability matrix for the developed work package.
- Offer support on process audit activities.
- Adhere to processes and tools, including the usage of Cognizant 20 and awareness of the Quality Management System.
- Follow the SCM policies set for the project.
Testing:
- Write unit test cases for the specific unit.
- Seek review from peers/senior developers for the written test cases.
- Execute the test cases.
- Capture and rectify defects as and when found, and retest the areas during testing and warranty phases.
- Review work to ensure adherence to SCM policies set for the project.
- Follow up on the integration of the developed component with the application.
- Understand and utilize automation tools for testing.
Defect Management:
Refine the code based on review comments from code reviews or defects identified in unit testing, peer testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), or any other pertinent testing phases.
Process Improvements and Adherence:
- Offer suggestions for process optimization or value-added improvements and communicate them to the relevant stakeholders.
- Adhere strictly to processes and tools, including the usage of Cognizant 20 and awareness of the Quality Management System, IDE, etc.
Knowledge Management:
- Contribute to updating knowledge assets such as user manuals, online help documents, and installation manuals/scripts.
- Contribute to searching, reusing, and adding all types of assets from the repository.
