Education Qualification: A candidate for this position should hold either a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree.
Role:
- Set up the test environment and conduct performance benchmarking tests on replication environments utilizing Hitachi storage systems.
- Develop and document comprehensive test plans, performance briefs, Implementation Guides, and other technical documents. These should outline configurations, test methodologies, results, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Engineering and partners (if applicable) to establish appropriate test and performance goals, aiming to maximize results.
- Architect, build and maintain a dynamic lab environment capable of swift configuration adjustments to accommodate specific hardware or software solutions.
- Deliver advanced-level technical training to System Engineers and other relevant technical audiences.
- Create automated scripts for testing, setup preparation, etc., utilizing tools such as Python, Shell, etc.
- Provide regular status updates and reports to keep management informed of progress.
Responsibilities:
- Significant experience in performance benchmarking, tuning, and analysis. Identifying bottlenecks in File, Content, and/or Block performance is crucial for this role.
- Proficient in NAS, File storage architecture, configuration, and management.
- Experience in software-defined storage, including configuration, provisioning, and troubleshooting.
- Advantageous to have experience in Cloud platform and storage administration.
- Plus if experienced with other virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Excellent knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Hands-on expertise with HDS storage or expert-level proficiency with IBM/HP/EMC/NetApp storage in block and file services.
- Solid storage knowledge in RAID, disk-subsystem, file system, snapshot, replication (in-system, remote), and deduplication.
- Excellent understanding of networking and storage protocols: NFS, CIFS, TCP/IP, Fibre Channel, Storage Area Network.
- Coding experience (Python, Perl, Shell, etc.) for automating test scripts is highly beneficial.
- Strong writing and documentation skills, along with effective verbal communication, including presentations and technical training.
- Extensive exposure and experience in integrating hardware solutions, including servers (UNIX, LINUX, and Windows) with storage systems.
- Exceptional internal and external customer skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively at senior technical and executive levels, including consultants, SE, PM, VP, etc.
- Team player with the ability to quickly adapt to changes, both technical and process-oriented.
