Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, test, and manage large-scale, high-volume, high-performance data structures dedicated to analytics and reporting. Utilize best practices in data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL, with a focus on AWS technologies such as Redshift and OLAP.
Implement data structures following best practices in data modeling, and ETL processes, and utilizing SQL, AWS – Redshift, and OLAP technologies. Model data and metadata for both ad hoc and pre-built reporting needs.
Collaborate with product tech teams to construct robust and scalable data integration (ETL) pipelines using SQL, Python, and Spark. Constantly enhance ongoing reporting and analysis processes, automating and simplifying self-service support for customers.
Engage with business customers to gather requirements and deliver comprehensive reporting solutions. Work closely with Analysts, Business Intelligence Engineers, Software Development Engineers (SDEs), and Product Managers to implement algorithms leveraging rich data sets for statistical analysis and machine learning.
Maintain effective communication with product, business, and tech teams, as well as other data teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and information exchange.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in data engineering.
- Proficient in SQL.
- Hands-on experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and constructing ETL pipelines.
- Familiarity with one or more query languages such as SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, MDX, HiveQL, SparkSQL, or Scala.
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages like Python or KornShell.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Hive, Spark, and EMR.
- Experience using ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, SSIS, BODI, Datastage, or similar platforms.
