Responsibilities:
Design and create efficient and scalable data pipelines connecting enterprise systems with the analytics platform. Collaborate closely with the Data Science team, contributing to the development of feature engineering pipelines. Leverage expertise in designing and implementing Ratings Integrated Data Facility using modern AWS cloud technologies such as S3, Redshift, EMR, Hive, Data Bricks, Java/Scala, and Spark.
Establish and maintain a data environment prioritizing speed, accuracy, consistency, and uptime. Support analytics by constructing a high-quality data lake environment, enabling analysts to derive insights into revenue and power products organization-wide. Collaborate with the machine learning engineering team to construct a robust data ecosystem supporting AI products at scale.
Ensure the adoption of data governance principles, implement data quality checks, and establish data lineage at each stage of data processing. Partner with the chief data office and enterprise architecture organization to optimize the use of standards for key data domains and use cases.
Stay informed about emerging trends in Big Data and cloud technologies, actively participating in the evaluation of new technologies. Uphold compliance by adhering to enterprise standards promoting best practices and guiding principles aligned with organizational standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s (BS) or Master’s (MS) degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
- 4+ years of experience as a data engineer at an innovative organization.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience implementing data lake systems using AWS cloud technologies such as S3, Redshift, EMR, Data Bricks, Hive, Presto, and Spark.
- Expertise in managing AWS services (EC2, S3, Route 53, ELB, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda) in a multi-account production environment.
- Additional advantage: Experience with Machine Learning Libraries and Frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, MLlib).
- Exposure to R, SparklyR, and other R packages is a plus.
- Experience with development frameworks and data/integration technologies such as Informatica, Python, Scala, Java.
- Expert knowledge of Agile approaches to software development, with the ability to implement key Agile principles incrementally.
- Stay updated on industry trends and directions; provide substantive technical recommendations to senior management.
- Excellent analytical thinking, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence both IT and business partners.
- Ability to prioritize and manage work effectively to meet critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial services industry experience is preferred.
